The average speed has reduced to 15mph in the area
There are significant delays and queues of traffic on M6 after a crash near Preston caused a lane to close.
The incident took place between junction 31 and junction 31A on the northbound carriageway. The crash took place just before 9am and lane one, of four, has been closed. As a result, there is congestion back to junction 30 and the average speed has reduced to 15mph in the area.A spokesperson for AA said: "Delays of seven minutes and delays increasing on M6 Northbound between J30 M61 and J31A B6242 Bluebell Way . Average speed 15 mph."
A spokesperson for traffic monitoring website, INRIX, said: "One lane closed and slow traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J31 A59 Preston New Road to J31A B6242 Bluebell Way .
