State of Origin: Blues captain Jake Trbojevic has laughed off suggestions he should be axed from the team following criticism from former NSW player Mark Geyer.
Connor Watson was unveiled as the Blues’ newest debutant on Sunday, but his career could have taken a very different path after the gun utility found himself at a “crossroads”.
“I played with Connor for four years, we are really good mates still to this day, not only is he a really good footballer, he’s a really good person too,” Barnett told“People know his journey, he’s had a lot of injuries and a lot of hard times. There was times he probably thought he would have to go overseas and play somewhere.“He’s persevered and you couldn’t find anyone more deserving than him.”

Speaking on NRL360, Watson recounted his version of events and how he couldn’t even call his parents to break the news.
