The pair were charged with entering a Pinjarra Piggery last month and live streaming a video inside, viewed by 60,000 people. 9News

A magistrate has linked an attack on a Perth piggery with the Christchurch massacre saying that live streaming has become "a new vocabulary".

Around 40 animal activists gathered outside court in support of 25-year-old vegan activist James Warden and his accomplice this morning, ahead of the pair pleading guilty to trespassing. Warden, alongside 24-year-old Katrina Sobianina, were charged after entering a Pinjarra Piggery last month and live streaming a video from inside, viewed by 60,000 people.

Magistrate Geoff Lawrence told the court: “I can’t stress how far away this is from activities in NZ - but it was under the cover of darkness - it was completely reckless to the community, without any consideration to the owners who are running a lawful business.“What concerns me most about this on behalf of community is that the 1.5hr live coverage was beamed out around the world.”
