UNSW Professor of Quantum Physics Michelle Simmons discusses the scientific breakthrough her team has made in working towards building the world’s first quantum computer.
“We’ve built the world’s first integrated circuit at the atomic scale,” Professor Simmons told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
She said the devices being made are “very small” and will allow them to do calculations and solve problems “in real time that otherwise would take thousands of years”. “Within the next five to six years, we’ll have commercial devices that will start to solve problems using those quantum states.Read More
