A large emergency response has taken place at a New Zealand airport after a “major incident” occurred on a flight arriving from Australia.
Dozens of passengers have been injured on a flight from Sydney to Auckland, forcing an emergency response on the ground after medical support was requested.
As many as 50 passengers on the flight required treatment after sustaining injuries – 13 of which had to be taken to Middlemore Hospital. Initial reports revealed 24 patients had been injured however that number was later updated as more details of the incident began to unravel.
