Dozens of people have been evacuated from a Mornington Peninsula hospital after a massive crane working on a construction site next door crashed through its roof.

A piling rig was working on the Frankston Hospital redevelopment site on Yuille Street when it tipped onto the roof of the hospital just before 10am on Wednesday.
