The Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says he’d like to see both major parties “reconsider” their “ambitious” climate targets under the current circumstances.
“The problem is that coal is disappearing out of the system much faster than we thought,” he told Sky News host Jenna Clarke. “And the great disconnect is here, both parties set targets for 2030 … but the effect of setting that target is to force coal out even quicker.”
