Major update for surfer whose leg was severed in horror shark attack

Kai McKenzie, 23, has undergone surgery on Wednesday to reattach his right leg after he was mauled by a three-metre white shark.

There has been a significant update after a young surfer had his leg bitten off by a shark, as donations pour in to assist with his rehabilitation and recovery.

It is not currently known whether Mr McKenzie’s leg was attached, but he is said to be in a stable condition post surgery. The young surfer was airlifted to Port Macquarie Base Hospital, and then transported to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Wednesday morning where he remains in a stable condition.
