An 18-year-old man charged with stabbing another man in Adelaide’s northeast has been identified. Ashra Stuart is accused of stabbing a 34-year-old man living at the same property in Campbelltown. He was initially charged with attempted murder but that has since been downgraded to serious assault. 7 NEWS understands Stuart was living in a granny flat behind his mother’s home, which she shares with the 34-year-old man.

“ was covered in blood, couple of stab wounds ... couple around the stomach is what I could see fair bit of blood around his stomach,” one witness said. Neighbours said Stuart’s mother was in tears and carrying a baby in her arms when police arrived. The glass door of the granny flat was seen smashed. Detectives said they seized a knife from the property and a garden saw. During a brief court appearance in the Adelaide Magistrates Court, Stuart’s charges were downgraded.
