Forager Funds Management and Spheria Asset Management sold their entire stakes to Soprano Design Technology, Street Talk understands.
Two major Whispir shareholders – Forager Funds Management and Spheria Asset Management – sold their entire stakes to Soprano Design Technology as part of the takeover bid, Street Talk understands.Jarden, acting as Soprano’s financial adviser, was in the market on Monday morning hoovering up as many shares as possible at the takeover offer price of 48¢ per share.The all-cash takeover bid was at a 60 per cent premium to the closing price of 30¢ on November 3.
Forager popped up as a substantial holder in June 2022 and built its stake up to 11.2 per cent. Spheria first appeared on the substantial list in late October at 7.6 per cent.Whispir’s other substantial shareholders include Pinnacle Investment management , AustralianSuper and Whispir chief executive Jeromy Wells . AustralianSuper sold down from 7.1 per cent last Monday at 30¢ per share.
Soprano counts Andrew Gray’s Potentia Capital among its shareholders. The specialist technology sector investment house took a 25 per cent stake in Soprano for $66 million in January this year from ARN Media.has co-edited Street Talk since 2009, specialising in private equity, investment banking, M&A and equity capital markets stories.
