Hundreds of terrified passengers and airline employees were evacuated from Canberra Airport after a lone gunman allegedly fired five shots near the terminal’s security screening zone on Sunday afternoon.
Flights to and from the airport were suspended for the afternoon with the airport locked down while police investigated the crime scene. They resumed just before 5pm, with the airport advising passengers to contact their airline with services being cancelled, consolidated and rescheduled.
