A 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting at police during a high-speed pursuit in Sydney's southwest. Two men were initially suspected of attempting to break into a property with links to organized crime. During the chase, the passenger allegedly fired shots at a Dog Squad officer and his vehicle. The pursuit was halted due to safety concerns, and the driver was apprehended after crashing the car. The passenger remains at large.

During the high-speed pursuit, the passenger is alleged to have fired"several" shots from a handgun at a Dog Squad officer and his patrol vehicle. A search of the Hyundai also led officers to allegedly find"a number of firearms", including the gun that was used to shoot at police during the pursuit. The Dog Squad, PolAir, specialist paramedics, and a BearCat, an armoured black vehicle used in tactical operations, were all spotted throughout Tuesday morning.
