A man was escorted away by police after he appeared to bolt out of the last train from Melbourne to Sydney’s Central station on Tuesday.
Passengers on-board the final XPT train to Sydney from the virus-stricken Victorian capital were racing the clock to beat the state-border lockdown.
As part of health protocols, arrivals were taken into waiting rooms at Central station to be screened and have their temperature checked before being allowed to leave. He was one of 75 passengers on-board the train — the maximum it could carry to allow for social distancing - and wasn’t concerned about taking the 11-hour journey with others.
