Homicide detectives have charged a 29-year-old man with murder after a detainee was killed in a violent altercation at the Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre east of Perth.
A 32-year-old man was allegedly stabbed when a fight broke out in the compound, with an accommodation building also set on fire. The man was taken out on a stretcher before those carrying him stopped to provide medical assistance.
