A manhunt is underway to find four teens believed to have murdered a Queensland man after he was stabbed up to 18 times inside his home. 9News
said 48-year-old Jamie Barlow was ambushed in a targeted attack in the front yard of his Laidley property, west of Brisbane at around 10pm on Monday.The attackers, believed to be in their late teens, then forced the father inside where he was fatally stabbed.A fire was then lit inside the home before the young men fled the scene, however it did not alight the property.Barlow's partner was forced to share the devastating news with his family.
"She said his body is lying on the lawn, he's got a sheet on it, there's no one around," Jamie's mum, Debra Barlow, said.Police say they believe they know who the perpetrators are but the motive of the stabbing remains unclear.Barlow said she had spoken with her son only the day before, unaware it would become her final memory of him.Police said the man was badly injured after being stabbed multiple times by four teens."I am in shock.
Police said they believe they know who they are looking for, but it remains unclear why Barlow was targeted."Police are now conducting a homicide investigation," he said.9News understands Mr Barlow's partner is now in protective custody as a precaution until the perpetrators are found.A homicide investigation is underway.Police are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Monday to come forward.
