A man died in a shooting in Sydney's west, believed to be connected to the city's ongoing gangland war. Police are investigating the incident and have established a crime scene.
A man has died in the latest shooting believed to be linked to Sydney 's gangland war . Emergency services were called to Sutherland Street, Canley Heights, near Fairfield in Sydney 's west about 6.50pm on Sunday. Paramedics treated a man believed to be aged in his 30s, for gunshot wounds, but he died at the scene. Officers have begun an investigation into the incident, with a crime scene established so the area of the shooting could be examined.

Emergency services were later called to an abandoned car on fire on Bathurst Street, Wakeley, about 3km from the location of the shooting. Fire crews put the blaze out shortly after. It is believed to be linked to the shooting, with a number of burnt out cars often located after similar incidents this year in Sydney.
