Chilcote, age 40, was arrested on arson charges following a Sept. 3, 2022 fire call to an apartment building at 51 W. Simpson St. in the borough, where responding fire crews found two couches stacked on top of each other in Chilcote’s apartment, and set on fire. Chilcote also said he knocked on his neighbor’s door and warned another tenant that was on a nearby porch. Police, however, said those witnesses said Chilcote wasn’t specific in his warning, so the fire was not discovered until a few minutes later.
