Queensland's police commissioner says it's the first time he's heard of an alleged offender being shot twice by officers in separate incidents.
A man shot by Queensland police north of Brisbane yesterday has previously been shot by officers in a separate incident, the state's police commissioner revealed on Thursday.
Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski confirmed it's the second time the man has been shot by police. Two other adults and a baby were at the address where the man was shot, but they were not physically injured. Commissioner Gollschewski said each incident was thoroughly investigated and he backed yesterday's use of force.
Commissioner Gollschewski said there were "peaks and troughs" across jurisdictions regarding police shootings.
