An elderly pensioner is believed to have been murdered after attending a karaoke night at a local pub in NSW’s Central West region. The 75-year-old man’s body was discovered by a friend inside his home on Alluvial St, Parkes on Sunday afternoon. 7 NEWS understands he had attended the Royal Hotel Parks on Saturday night with police appealing to anyone who attended the venue to make contact to help establish a timeline of his movements.
“Unfortunately I can’t elaborate too much on the circumstances of the death as the investigation is only early but we’re treating it as suspicious,” Central West Police District Detective Inspector Jason Darcy told reporters. “We’re out canvassing today, we’re talking to witnesses so we make an appeal to anyone who has CCTV.” The man has been identified, however, next of kin are still being notified.
