Police say it happened on an EMR service travelling from Newark Castle to Lincoln
Police say a man threw food at another passenger before racially abusing him and threatening other people on an East Midlands Railway train in Nottinghamshire. British Transport Police are appealing for information following the incident, which took place on a service travelling from Newark Castle to Lincoln.
It happened at some time between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, April 27. Officers would like to speak to anyone travelling on the same train who has any information about the incident. A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "Did you witness an assault that took place on a train at the weekend? Sometime between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday on an East Midlands Trains service travelling from Newark Castle to Lincoln a man threw food at a fellow passenger before racially abusing him and threatening other people on the service."Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch quoting reference 619 of 28 April.
