Manchester United beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park to make it three wins in a row.
United were wearing their white away strip, which normally has white shorts and white socks. It meant that United had to wear red shorts, something they first did 67 years ago for both European Cup semi-final fixtures against the mighty Real Madrid.Until then, United had never worn red shorts and it's believed the decision was what prompted Liverpool to start playing in all red.
In all three games, United were wearing their red home kit and so they had never worn red shorts with a white shirt until this term.
