Tyler Duncan, 21, surrendered to members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force after the standoff on the 1400 block of Grant Street, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Duncan was wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear at his April 8 sentencing. Authorities say Duncan, armed with a firearm, barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom of the residence on Tuesday. SWAT was called to the scene and eventually negotiated with Duncan to surrender. Three firearms were seized from the residence after the arrest, authorities say.
On Oct. 11, 2020, a 15-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy were playing basketball on the 1400 block of Rockaway Street at about 4:30 p.m. A Pontiac G6 went speeding down the street, prompting the 15-year-old to yell for the car to slow down, police say. The car, which police say was driven by Duncan, stopped in a driveway a few houses away. The driver got out of the car, pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the boys, police say.
