The AFC Cup continues to provide Central Coast Mariners with some much-needed relief from their A-League woes.

The Mariners secured a third successive AFC Cup win on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory in Indonesia over Bali United. Alou Kuol and Marco Tulio were the goalscorers for the Group G leaders, who took another step towards the next round of competition with their maiden win in Asian competition outside of Australia.

With each of the four teams in the group, the first-placed Mariners are a point ahead of Malaysian outfit Terengganu, who beat Filipino club Stallion Laguna 3-2 on Wednesday. The Mariners now face the challenge of transferring their winning AFC Cup form to the domestic stage after starting their A-League title defence with three successive defeats.
