Businessman Mark Bouris has moved his new private members club - open to men and women - to the “Paris end” of Melbourne’s Collins Street to poach members from the private men-only The Australian, Athenaeum, Savage and Melbourne clubs.

Mark Bouris, Daniel Hakim and Kirsten Carriol at the Club of United Business, which last year opened a Sydney venue above Louis Vuitton in the CBD.High-profile Australian barrister Julian Burnside has also urged The Melbourne Savage Club to allow women to become members.

The Club of United Business, which already has sites in Sydney’s CBD and Potts Point, has moved into 500sq m on the ground floor of the TG Building at 161 Collins Street, whose tenants include Google, Accenture, Nike and Treasury Wine Estates.CUB was founded in 2015 by CEO Daniel Hakim and is part-owned by Mr Bouris.
