After revealing their secret friendship during the election campaign, Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles has admitted he is 'very proud' of newly elected Liberal leader Peter Dutton.
The two MPs previously revealed they share a “secret” friendship while exchanging jibes on breakfast TV.

"Richard, I think it is great you had a week off during the campaign... but Labor's numbers picked up while you were on the couch at home .Mr Marles last week wished Mr Dutton well amid reports he was the frontrunner to seize Liberal leadership. The Labor Cabinet was sworn in on Wednesday after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed the frontbench overnight.
