UPDATE: Residents in Victoria, the ACT, rural NSW and metropolitan Sydney have been warned of declining air quality as strong winds are expected to bring dust storms.

The State Emergency Service has warned residents to move their cars under cover and away from trees and to stay indoors and away from fallen powerlines or objects that could be energised.
