The Hoops' Mr Cool reckons his Ibrox spot-kick showed he's keeping his calm in the intense pressure in the title race.

There are plenty of people getting wrapped up in the drama. Matt O’Riley prefers net flicks and chill.

He said: “I was pretty set on doing that, to be honest. I was quite confident Jack Butland was going to dive, and fortunately he did. If he didn’t, it would have been a different story! “It’s not the kind of game you want to second guess yourself. We were 1-0 up at that point so perhaps felt even more calm. It sounds strange, but I really wasn’t nervous, purely because I was so mentally prepared.”

“I would say I’ve always been calm, maybe not as much as I am now I have more experience. I didn’t plan it. Doing the work just prepares you for this situations.” It’s manager Brendan Rodgers’s job to keep his side in check – and O’Riley can sense his gaffer is getting a kick out of the title race. He said: “You can tell he enjoys it. We get that feeling too. Everyone enjoys it. Everyone should enjoy it. It’s fun when it’s close. I know from a fans’ perspective and I’d like it to be easy and 12 points clear. But when it’s close it brings out that extra fire in everyone and drive so I think it’s really enjoyable.
