Two figures at the centre of damning IBAC corruption report have issued an extraordinary response to the watchdog, denying its findings and defending their reputations.

Operation Sandon report on ThursdayThe bombshell four-year-long investigation found John Woodman had sought to influence City of Casey councillors by bribing them in exchange for favourable council decisions.

Mr Aziz instead claims he invested money into Mr Woodman’s consultancy firm, later receiving the money back with interest paid on top. “There’s no cash changing… All the financial relations I had were legitimate and appropriate, and nothing to do with my role as a councillor. He accused the watchdog of peddling a “false narrative” and delivering “half truths”, claiming his submissions to IBAC had been illegally omitted from the final Sandon report.
