After two weeks trapped on a coronavirus-hit cruise ship, the Australian family was packing their bags to fly to Darwin. Hours before the plane was due to depart, one of the family members tested positive for the virus
Of the 220 Australians originally on the ship, more than 30 have been infected with the virus.
In for the long haul: Australian woman Aun Na Tan and her family in their cabin on board the Diamond Princess, which has been docked in quarantine in Yokohama.Japan's health ministry revealed on Wednesday night that another 79 holidaymakers on the Diamond Princess cruise had tested positive for coronavirus, known as COVID-19.
"Keeping everyone safe is vitally more important compared to the relatively minor inconveniences of another period spent in quarantine," she said on Tuesday.
