Saturday’s bumper crowd, and fine weather forecast for Sunday, means the event will likely break its attendance record set in 2023. The biggest challenge for race organisers will be keeping race fans off the track after the chequered flag and avoiding the chaos that greeted last year’s late race finish.
Ferrari fans Adrian Puopolo, Alex Di Tella, Matthew Fava, Danni Campagna and Josie Mazzeo were among Saturday’s record crowd at the Australian Grand Prix.In the early years of Formula 1’s return to Albert Park, Michael Schumacher was one of the biggest names in world sport and Ferrari the dominant team in F1. Between 1999 and 2008, Ferrari won eight Constructors’ Championships and Schumacher five consecutive world titles.
Either way, they are happy that Melbourne will be Hamilton’s first race for his new team. “Melbourne should always be the first race,” Georgia said. “It’s the best.″ Under the original terms of that contract, the opening race was to be held in Melbourne in 2024, 2025 and for three of the following 10 years. In late 2022 the contract was amended following a request from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to host their races before the start of Ramadan.
