A Melbourne freight worker has been linked to the outbreak of COVID-19 at a Sydney hotel
The man from Melbourne worked in the freight industry, but was not a truck driver, Ms Musto said.
She said she was very concerned about areas in NSW which might have had a number of visitors from Melbourne, as well as from Mitchell Shire – which is covered by the current stage three restrictions – but also from coastal and border communities.Victoria had 1931 active coronavirus cases as of Wednesday and Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton last week said more than 5000 close contacts of those cases were in self-isolation in Victoria.
Parents at a childcare centre said they waited four days for official advice from health authorities after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, whileMr Andrews said hundreds of private sector workers from Ambulance Victoria, Medibank, Telstra, Qantas and Jetstar would be redeployed to work as contact tracers."Those people come with a skill set, obviously, they're working in call centres, they're often dealing with very complex issues," he said.
A spokesman for NAB said the bank was continuing conversations with the Victorian government and working through how it might be able to assist its request for support with COVID-19 contact tracing efforts.
