The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of England and South Wales and has now warned households to take steps to get ready for potential flash flooding
England households, brace yourselves. The Met Office has issued a three-day yellow weather warning for heavy rain across parts of England and South Wales. Torrential downpours are expected to hit the south of England and the Midlands, including London, Birmingham, Oxford, Norwich, Brighton, Southampton, Bristol, and Cardiff. Prepare for potential flash flooding and power cuts. The alert kicks off at 9pm on Wednesday and runs until just before the stroke of midnight on Friday.
The Met Office has issued a warning, stating: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life". "Park your car outside the flood zone. Prepare a flood kit to help you cope in the event of flooding to your home and business. Store valuables up high, including electrical devices, important documents and furniture. Turn off gas water and electricity supplies. If you are trapped in a building by floodwater, go to the highest level in the building you are in. Do not go into attic spaces to avoid being trapped by rising water.
