ANALYSIS: Michael Gunner is set to unveil his new ministry today. Here's how it could play out
The Northern Territory Electoral Commission will officially declare the results of last month's election this morning, but it's not the only political battle being concluded today.
The make-up of Chief Minister Michael Gunner's new ministerial team is also expected to be finalised.That means there are at least two vacancies.How are ministers chosen?will get together for a Caucus meeting this morning to vote on who makes the cut for Cabinet."I will wait till we have a full Caucus, then we will elect the Cabinet, and there are those two vacancies," Mr Gunner said last week.
In his most recent Cabinet, there were 26 separate roles, including six held by the Chief Minister himself.There are a number of factors that could determine who secures a spot, including popularity and factional alignment as well as the balance of women and Indigenous Territorians in the Cabinet.
