A cool change has swept across Victoria overnight bringing relief in temperatures but increased fire danger with dry lightning.
Large fires burning in east Gippsland are the biggest concerns, with locals in the Tambo Crossing and Ensay areas being told it's too late to leave.The Great Alpine Road has been closed between Bruthen and Ensay."The fire is now creating its own weather and is highly unpredictable," the warning says.
"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately. It is too late to leave," the emergency warning reads.
