New South Wales state party leaders Chris Minns and Dominic Perrottet are split over policies on cashless gaming which has turned out to be one of the upcoming state election’s biggest talking points.

A NSW Crime Commission investigation has handed down a report in 2022, delivering 8 recommendations to help the gambling industry.

The report states billions of dollars in dirty cash were being laundered each year and has suggested cashless gaming cards be introduced to phase out the illegal flow of money. NSW Opposition leader Chris Minns has promised a cashless card for poker machines to be trialed across a 12-month period and will apply it to 500 machines.

State Premier Dominic Perrottet says if he wins the election on March 25th, then all eight recommendations from the report will be legislated to combat what he believes is a very serious issue.
