The jackpot has grown so large because no one has matched the game's six selected numbers since April 15. After Tuesday night's draw, that's 29 consecutive drawings without a big winner.Tuesday's numbers were: 7, 29, 60, 63, and 66 with the Mega Ball 15. The prize is for winners who choose the annuity option, paid annually over 30 years. Most winners opt for the cash option, which for the next drawing on Friday night is an estimated $US602.5 million .
The largest Mega Millions jackpot was $US1.537 billion on October 23, 2018, for a ticket sold in South Carolina, the lottery said.Powerball holds the record for the biggest ever giveaway with a $US1.586 billion jackpot in January 2016.Mega Millions is played in 45 states as well as Washington, DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
