Australia now has 90 per cent of its population aged 16 and over who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while more than 1 million booster shots have been administered across the country.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday took to social media to announce 90 per cent of Australians aged 16 and over were now fully vaccinated against COVID-19."Thank you, Australia - 90 per cent of Australians aged 16+ are now officially fully vaccinated, an incredible achievement," Mr Morrison said.
Mr Morrison said vaccination was integral in allowing the country to reopen, with Australia having one of the highest inoculation rates in the world. "Yesterday was a record day in terms of booster shots, there were more than 135,000 boosters delivered," he said on Friday.
