4moms is recalling MamaRoos and RockaRoos due to entanglement hazards from straps that hang down from the rockers and swings when not in use. At least one baby has died as a result of asphyxiation.
4moms is recalling more than 2 million MamaRoo and RockaRoo swings and rockers over entanglement and strangulation hazards posed by the straps that hang down.
"We are deeply saddened by the two incidents that occurred when babies crawled under the seat of unoccupied MamaRoo swings," 4moms CEO Gary Waters said in a statement emailed to NPR."After investigating the circumstances behind these two reported incidents, 4moms decided to conduct a voluntary recall in partnership with the CPSC.
were sold at BuyBuy Baby and Target stores, as well as online through Amazon and the 4moms website. A smaller number of these products were also sold in Canada. The products do not need to be disposed of. 4moms has created a strap fastener that secures the straps when the swings and rockers are not in use.
