Broncos star Payne Haas is recovering in hospital after being involved in a two-car crash, which killed three people south of the Gold Coast.The incident began when Queensland Police noticed a black 2017 Mercedes GLS 63 wagon allegedly driving dangerously along Bonogin Road near Calanthe Lane, in Bonogin, about 5pm.Officers attempted to stop the car but did not pursue it at the time.
Police said the crash caused the second silver Mercedes, with three people inside, to hit a power pole, which fell down and caused the black Mercedes to catch fire.Joan Taufua, Brisbane Broncos player Payne Haas's mother, who was involved in a Gold Crash which killed three people. "Despite the best efforts of police, paramedics and the passing motorists who provided initial assistance, the trio died at the scene."
