Stockbroker MST Financial has recruited former UBS head of equities Gary Head to help it try to win a bigger share of equity capital markets deals.
MST has told staff that Head, who ran UBS’s equities business in Australia before taking a global role, was joining as a partner and would primarily be focused on expanding the firm’s corporate advisory business.MST’s research team has more than 100 Australian small and microcaps under coverage, and thinks it can use that footprint to step up its deals underwriting and arranging.
