Two women and a toddler are in hospital after a car drove off a cliff north of Sydney. 9News
Emergency services were called to Bar Beach just after 10.30am after a Volkswagen Golf crashed through a barrier at the top carpark and drove over the edge.
A 40-year-old woman and her two-year-old child were on the beach at the time and were struck by the car. The woman suffered possible leg fractures and was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. Luckily, the child was not seriously harmed, suffering minor scratches. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 32-year-old woman, was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to the same hospital.Videos of the scene show the car on the beach at the base of a large cliff as a crowd of witnesses gather near the scene.
