She was minding her own business eating an ice-cream when she was unceremoniously slapped with a whopping $500 penalty.

But the mum didn’t take the fine lying down, and after more than a year, police have finally admitted their mistake.The mum was shocked at the penalty she copped.While working as a beautician and raising her four-year-old son, Ms Course decided to fight the fine as she couldn’t afford it.She was fined at 4.40pm on November 2 last year.

When they were writing her up, Ms Course showed officers her receipt for the ice-cream, which had been purchased just six minutes earlier along with petrol at a nearby service station. “There’s no way I could be eating my Magnum Ego, holding my phone and driving at the same time,” Ms Course
