A Whyalla mother and first-time children's author hopes her book will break down the stigma around disability and help young families accept differences in the people around them.

A South Australian mother has authored a picture book, inspired by her autistic son, to help educate other young families about autism.

"Only through raising him and doing our own independent research, and listening to the voices of autistic adults in the world, can I now confidently say his future is so bright." Although the book is autism coded, it could be more accurately described as a story about overcoming adversity.
