More workplaces are offering free hours of childcare to staff, encouraging more people to work for them
Zoey Iwuala, pictured with one of her daughters, is in favour of getting 50 hours of free childcare through her employer, an international payments companyZoey Iwuala needed extra childcare for her three daughters over the recent Easter school holidays.
“We’re able to reduce absenteeism and increase productivity,” says Zoey, who is the people engagement and culture manager at VertoFX. Other companies offering employer-funded childcare packages include Bright Horizons, through which the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust offers 80 hours a year free back-up childcare.
A client in the legal sector has opted for a more generous 80 hours, and Bubble is looking to close deals with other firms for 100 to 150 free childcare hours a year.
