Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the national apology for forced adoptions was one of the “finest moments in this parliament’s history” after being asked about its tenth anniversary.

“The national apology offered – was an honest humble and long overdue acknowledgment of the harm and loss and grief and trauma inflicted on mothers separated from their children and children separated from their mothers,” Mr Albanese said during Question Time.

“Today, a decade on, we pay tribute to all those who in the face of decades of callous indifference, demanded that the people of Australia apologies for the harm that was done.”
