Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has characterised Labor’s 2030 emissions reduction target as a 'ridiculous facade'.
A Nationals Senator has dubbed the 2030 emissions target proposed by the Albanese government as a"ridiculous facade", adding more fuel to the climate change debate which has reignited in recent days.
The Prime Minister then accused Mr Dutton of being"worse that Scott Morrison on climate change" and said such a decision would mean"walking away from the Paris Accord". When asked if the Coalition should commit to a target lower than the current aim of reducing emissions to 42 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, Mr Canavan issued an emphatic response.
“It is costing Australian families a fortune because ever since we signed up to net zero emissions and this 2030 target, prices have gone through the roof.” “And yesterday of course the European Union voted massively against the green agenda, green parties right across the continent were smashed.
