And before that, there's a chance the New York City area sees near-record highs during the week. While it may start chilly again come Tuesday and Wednesday morning, with some frosty spots possible to the north and west of the city, temperatures will be seasonable and pleasant during both days. It will warm up even further Thursday, reaching the mid 70s. It will approach record highs that day and again Friday, feeling borderline summer-like. Or at least late summer — average highs in early September are in the mid to upper 70s.Perhaps most importantly, it looks to be dry through at least Sunday, giving the tri-state an entirely dry Saturday for the first time in seemingly two months.
The stretch of good weather comes to a close on Tuesday, which is not great timing for trick-or-treaters. Halloween looks cool with a chance of showers, but that forecast could change as the date gets closer.
