Eureka favourite Leap To Fame will have to overcome an outside draw in the world’s richest race at Menangle on Saturday.

Disappointment quickly gave way to optimism for trainer-driver Grant Dixon after Eureka favourite Leap To Fame drew out wide for the $2.1 million slot race at Menangle on Saturday night.

Dixon first had to console slot holder and Leap To Fame’s owner Kevin Seymour after the draw was conducted on Wednesday before saying he still thinks he has the best horse in the field. “You always want to draw well, but we can work with it,” Dixon said. “We have got him here in the best condition, and he is the best horse I have had.“It is a big run to the first turn, and he will get his chance to show he is good enough.
