The NSW Swifts have declared their opposition to a post by star shooter Samantha Wallace-Joseph in which she lashed out at a post supporting International Transgender Day Of Visibility.
In an Instagram story, Wallace-Joseph responded to US president Joe Biden proclaiming March 31 - which this year, happens to be Easter Sunday - as a date to support the marginalised group. The US president annually proclaims March 31 as International Transgender Day Of Visibility, meaning the timing had nothing to do with the Christian holiday of Easter, but the proclamation unsurprisingly became part of a culture war.
“The NSW Swifts are aware of a social media post by Samantha Wallace-Joseph earlier today which has caused understandable hurt to members of the transgender community.“The Club spoke with Samantha raising its concerns. It is important to note that Samantha listened and will meet with the Club tomorrow.

The NSW Swifts Club will always be their allies.” Wallace-Joseph argued with many netball fans over the post on Twitter on Monday and has since deleted some, but not all, of the tweets.
“That’s why y’all are strangers. If you know me you will understand.
