The NSW government has told commuters in the state there will be 'no further industrial action' on the rail network under a new enterprise agreement workers have overwhelmingly supported.

Union members and the government had been locked in a bitter long-running feud over pay and conditions, resulting in strikes and Opal card machines being turned off.

"Following this positive vote, the travelling public can now be more confident in the level of service provided on the train network."

The first of the South Korean-built Mariyung fleet carriages arrived in Australia in December 2019 but the union wanted changes after claiming they were unsafe to operate.
